How to plan a day-by-day travel itinerary
A useful itinerary answers three questions: what fits into each day, how you get between places, and what you can change if plans shift. Start with your actual dates and available hours, then build the route around your group.
Start with the hours you really have
Write down arrival and departure times, accommodation location and any fixed bookings. A four-day trip does not necessarily mean four full sightseeing days. Keep arrival day close to your accommodation and leave enough time for the return journey on departure day.
Group saved places by neighbourhood
Put your saved places on a map before assigning them to days. Choose one main area for each day, then add nearby walks, food stops and smaller sights. Compare walking and public transport routes; a short distance on the map may involve a river crossing or a long interchange.
Give each day an anchor and breathing room
Choose the experience you most want that day and plan around its booking time. Add nearby stops that fit your pace, meal breaks and time to enjoy the area. Treat extra ideas as optional. With children or limited mobility, account for breaks and access before adding another attraction.
Build a flexible four-day outline
Day 1: arrival, settle in and explore nearby. Day 2: your priority area and a booked experience if needed. Day 3: a different neighbourhood or a day trip if journey times fit. Day 4: a short local visit before departure. This is a planning example, not a destination-specific finished itinerary.
Check details before you commit
Check official venue websites for opening days, ticket requirements and accessibility for your dates. Confirm transport options and retain an indoor alternative for poor weather. Keep booking confirmations together and avoid booking several non-refundable activities back to back.
Turn your outline into a personal trip
Tell Avia the city or region, exact dates, travellers, pace, budget and food preferences. NAVIGAM uses that context to build a personal trip preview. The preview is available without charge for 24 hours after sending; the full trip app is purchased separately on the website. Flights, hotels and tickets are booked and paid for directly with providers.
